A historic chapel in the heart of the masseria

The chapel of Masseria Luco consists of two interconnected small churches, reflecting the historical and religious evolution of the estate. The first, dating back to the 18th century, is dedicated to the Madonna della Pace; the second, built in the 19th century, is dedicated to Christ the Redeemer and is a fully consecrated chapel, still today a symbol of faith and spirituality.

The Carella frescoes and sacred artworks

Inside the chapel, visitors can admire precious sacred frescoes attributed to Carella, an artist who left an important legacy in Apulian religious painting. In the altar alcove, there is an 1806 fresco depicting the Virgin of Mount Carmel, while the intrados of the vault is decorated with frescoes portraying Saint Barbara in Glory and the Assumption.

On the left wall, inside a display case, a valuable statue of the Madonna del Carmelo made of wood and papier-mâché is preserved, offering further testimony to the artistic and religious tradition of the masseria.
